For Family Fun, Author Advises Return to the Stone Age

When it comes to art activities, painting on rocks is both exciting and inexpensive, making it ideal for cash-strapped families. Lin Wellford's newest book, Rock Painting Fun for Everyone! offers a colorful array of fun and easy projects that will have you asking 'is it real or is it rock?'

Green Forest, AR (PRWEB) April 8, 2006 -- "Like picking treasure up off the ground", is how legions of rock painting fans describe their somewhat quirky art form. With nearly one million books sold, Lin Wellford is known as 'the mother of modern rock painting'. Her first book, The Art of Painting Animals on Rocks, was the start of a bestselling series that has introduced hundreds of thousands of people to the joys of turning rocks into art.

"Rocks aren't intimidating the way more traditional art materials can be," explains the fifty-five year old author who painted her first rock after moving to the Arkansas Ozarks in 1978. "I've had many people tell me that they had no idea that they had any artistic talent until they painted their first rock."
